French Onion Soup |
Serves: 6 1/4 Cup Butter In large soup pot
melt butter and add oil. Add onions and cook covered for 15 minutes,
stirring occasionally. Add the flour and cook stirring, for 2 minutes.
Cover and simmer on low heat for 20 minutes. Stir frequently to prevent
sticking. Heat beef stock in another pan. When onion have cooked, pour
stock into pot with onions. Simmer another 20 minutes. Ladle into oven
proof bowls. Place a slice of bread in each bowl, sprinkle cheese on top
and run under broiler till cheese in melted. |
